EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy is a non-profit, non-partisan and independent institute. It focuses on the issues of European integration and its impact on the transformation of political, economic and legal milieu in the Czech Republic. EUROPEUM strives to contribute to a long-lasting development of democracy, security, stability, freedom and solidarity across Europe. EUROPEUM formulates opinions and offers alternatives to internal reforms in the Czech Republic with a view of ensuring her full-fledged membership and respected position in the European Union.

In long-term perspective EUROPEUM has four major research programmes:

Future EU programme focuses on the analysis and recommendations for the Czech positions towards the EU reform and its future functioning. The main areas of research include the EU institutional issues, the issue of the Lisbon Treaty and future EU enlargement including countries such as Turkey, Western Balkans or Ukraine.

Foreign Policy and Transatlantic Relations programme covers future development of Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP) and analysis and recommendations for the EU and the Czech Republic in this respect. Economic and Social programme analyses economic and social issues mostly connected with the membership of the Czech Republic in the EU, such as the adoption of Euro, Lisbon agenda, support for research and development in the EU and their connection with the internal reforms in the Czech Republic.

Freedom, Security and Justice programme generally analyses problems connected with the application and implementation of acquis communautaire in the Czech Republic. It focuses also on specific issues included in this policy, such as the European Arrest Warrant, new European initiatives in the field of fight against terrorism, immigration and asylum policies, issues of visa policies towards third countries or the consular co-operation among EU member states.
