Slovak Governance Institute, a non-profit, non-partisan organization was founded in October 2001 to create a NGO with a clear focus on good governance and public policy. SGI's mission is to improve the process of making and implementing decisions on the allocation of public resources to meet the society's needs to ensure good, accessible, transparent and effective public services.
SGI has extensive international experience in designing and implementing projects aiming at enhancing the quality of public policy and public administration including in specific sectoral policies. SGI and its staff have completed a number of projects in the following countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Mexico and Slovakia. This objective is being achieved through advocacy, advisory and consultancy as well as research activities.
